So there has been a bit of a set back in numbers...

My name is Clara and I'm a 20 year old musician from Los Angeles. Two years into studying percussion at the Manhattan School of Music, I decided to spend a semester at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I'm living here in Amsterdam for 120 days, until December 23, and I will upload a minute-long recording of sound from my surroundings every day. Expect to hear outdoor scenes, conversations, music and other cool things.

So there has been a bit of a set back in numbers of uploads. I’d say maybe the blog should be something more like 96 minutes in sound by the end of it all. But NEVERTHELESS, here’s a recording from Intocht Sinterklaas on Sunday (Sinterklaas arrives in Amsterdam on a steamboat from Spain with his black slaves, and all of Amsterdam’s children show up to welcome him and get treats… oh traditions…)
